Chennai Beaches

Chennai is a city located on the eastern coast of India and it is also the capital of Tamil Nadu. It is known as a famous tourist destination due to the history and the culture of the area. Besides the tourist places that can be visited in the city, the region is also blessed by Mother Nature with beautiful beaches. Chennai Beaches are calm and serene and they provide relaxation for the tourists after the fast paced life in the city. The exotic beaches are all that you need to forget about the atmosphere in big cities and to put behind you daily worries and routines.

Since there is a hot and humid climate in the region, living in the big city might easily turn into a nightmare on torrid days. Chennai beaches are like a breath of fresh air and they help you refill with energy. However, not only locals come to relax in this exotic paradise, but also people from all over the world.

Chennai BeachesThere are several Chennai Beaches that are extremely appealing for tourists worldwide. Marina Beach, for example, is famous because it is the second largest beach in the world. It is four and a half kilometers long and it is filled with statues and monuments. The statues are representing heroes of the Tamil culture. On this beach there is also an aquarium where you can admire various species of fish. Besides being very long, Marina Beach is also wide and tourists love it because it is very accessible, located right in the city of Chennai.

In the southern part of Marina Beach there is Elliot Beach, especially frequented by young people. It has a vibrant nightlife and it is all about fun and entertainment. It is also the cleanest one out of all the Chennai Beaches.

Covelong Beach is situated forty kilometers away from Chennai, on the road to Mahabalipuram. It is actually a luxury beach resort capable of satisfying the needs of the most exquisite tourists. It is bordered by the canal going from Chennai to Mahabalipuram on one side and by the sea on the other side. You can find excellent accommodation here because the Taj Groups of Hotels owns the Fisherman's Cove Resort.

A holiday in this region can be a beautiful combination between time spent at the beach and visiting tourist attractions in Chennai. This way the entire family will be happy.
