Water Rafting at Rishikesh

Rishikesh located in Uttaranchal in Northern India is famous for its natural splendor of the Himalayan Ranges, river Ganges and the shrines and pilgrimages dotting the banks of this holy river. Apart from its religious value, the river Ganges has become the most important site of water rafting in North India much to the delight of adventure lovers.

River rafting depends on the volume of the running water and so the most appropriate season is March-April-May and September-November. Many established river camps are there to operate the White Water Rafting Tours in Rishikesh. These camps are fully equipped with experienced guides, best quality inflated rubber boats, jackets and other safety accessories to carry out the river rafting trips successfully.

Short River Rafting Trips

This river rafting trip of 10 kilometers has the first drive to Brahmapuri followed by a boat ride to the Ganges rafting down through the Laxman Jhula, Geeta Bhawan along with a number of shrines and ashrams dotting the banks. River rafting enables one to get a better view of the Rishikesh that is famous for its temples, ashrams and bathing ghats.

River Rafting in Shivpuri

Water Rafting RishikeshAfter a night's stay in the river side camp in Byasi located 28 kilometers north of Rishikesh and enjoying the beautiful starlit night, the river rafting trip towards Shivpuri starts next day morning. Before that a short training and instructions are provided to the rafters by expert instructors about the nitty gritty of river rafting- how to face the rapids and overcome the difficulties in this adventure sport.

While rafting the river unfolds its mysterious beauty through the various rapids hitting the raft and the thrill runs down the spine. Encountering the rapids like The Wall, Black Money, Cross Fire and Three Blind Mice on the way to Shivpuri is such a joyous experience which is going to last forever. The roller coaster ride on the vulcanized rubber boats lends a rock and roll feeling as the rafters steer themselves through the gushing rapids.

Rafting through the mighty Ganges surrounded by the thick vegetation of the Himalayan ranges the nature seems to have over poured its beauty. After reaching Shivpuri camp the rafters indulge themselves in Body Surfing, Cliff Jumping and Beach Volleyball before resting back into the camp. Next day the return journey from Shivpuri to Rishikesh starts early morning hitting the furious rapids like Return to Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course and Club house. These rapids throw serious challenges to the rafters testing their skills. The river rafting comes to an end on reaching the Rishikesh base camp.
